Dr. Luis Mendoza holds the esteemed position of Senior Medical Director and Regional Team Head EEU within the Oncology Global Medical and Scientific Services Unit of IQVIA. A certified Medical Oncologist, Dr. Mendoza has been a pivotal Medical and Scientific Advisor on numerous oncology and hematology clinical trials. His expertise extends to bioequivalent and biosimilar studies, both in healthy volunteers and cancer patients. Since June 2019, he has been leading the EU Hem/Onc team with unparalleled dedication. Dr. Mendoza's journey in Medical Oncology began at the prestigious Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. He furthered his academic pursuits with a PhD in immunology-oncology at the Academy of Sciences in Prague, where he specialized in anticancer vaccines and became a renowned expert in dendritic-cell based vaccines using experimental mice models. With over 25 years of experience in hematology and oncology, and more than 20 years in clinical development, Dr. Mendoza has a profound understanding of hema-oncology phase I-IV trials. His work includes testing groundbreaking anticancer compounds such as targeted therapies, immunotherapies, oncolytic virus vaccines, antibody-drug conjugates, chemotherapies, PARP and PI3K inhibitors, and antiangiogenic drugs. His contributions to global clinical trials span various solid tumors, including ovarian, breast, and lung cancers. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Mendoza is committed to altruistic endeavors, offering unpaid second opinion consultations for physicians and cancer patients. He is also a prolific author and co-author of numerous medical and scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
